3-Dimensional Quilling

Here are a couple of examples of 3-Dimensional quilling. I made this butterfly quite awhile ago, in early 2011,  when I was new to quilling. Recently, I made this mushroom to go with it.

I found an interestingly shaped jar at my city's Budget Bin consignment sale, which is run by the PTAs and provides funding for scholarships. As soon as I saw it, I knew it would be a great way to display the pieces.

I put the butterfly on some jewelry wire and I attached a small piece of floral wire to the mushroom. I then stuck them into a small piece of styrofoam that I covered with fake moss.

I added some of my quilled flowers to draw the eye up towards the top of the jar. The jar is round on top but triangular on the bottom. It took some careful work to get everything down to the bottom, but it worked!
