Cards

Cards are a great venue to showcase quilling.

One of the first cards that I made was for the birthday of my mother-in-law in December 2010. She loves her Boston Terrier, so I thought she'd love this card (she did)! I couldn't find a pattern, so I actually created this guy on my own!

Shortly after that card, I began experimenting with some other designs, in part to gather more data on how well they hold up in the mail. :)

I made this card in January 2011 for a friend's wedding.

I made this card in February 2011 to write a note to one of my sisters. Combining the quilled flower with the multi-layered fringed flower really gave this a fun feel.

I was on a roll with cards at this point and made several fun ones in March of 2011, which I used for various occasions. I made the cards and the envelopes with a Cricut.

For my cousin's wedding in April 2013, I made a card with hearts edged in gold and a wedding cake topped with two rings.

In May 2013, I worked on a card to go with a diaper cake some friends and I made for another friend's baby shower. I was inspired by a card from Ann Martin of All things Paper. My card design is simpler, but I did follow the quilling instructions that she provided. I think the duckling is the perfect accompaniment to our bath time diaper cake!
